Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Are dogs or pets allowed at the Market?
A. At this time, a "dog friendly" market;
to remain that way, we need your
cooperation.
SAFETY is our first concern for everyone; all dogs MUST be on a leash no longer than
6 feet (including retractable leashes), carried, or
in a crate or carrier. Food is being served, often
with samples offered, please keep pets away from these products, displays
and samples. Remember dogs
don't always like each other and can get "fussy",
not everyone likes dogs, and ill-behaved
pets cause problems for customers and vendors.
Be considerate of others when bringing
"Rover" to the market. (The market management
reserves the right to ask problem pets be removed
from the vendor area.)
Q. What happens if it's raining?
A. The Market is open rain or shine. Our vendors
brave the elements to bring you the best of New
Hampshire's produce, crafts and food!
Q. Does the WFM season end on Labor Day weekend?
A. NO! We are open through the end of
September. This is peak time for locally grown
produce and our farmers bring you the bounty of
their harvest for several weeks after Labor Day!
It's also a good time to get a jump on holiday
shopping with the unique items offered by our
artisan vendors.
A. Why can't vendors sell before the 9 am
opening bell?
Q. Without
a firm opening time, it is inevitable that some
vendors will arrive earlier and earlier hoping to "get an
edge" on sales. Others then follow suit quickly escalating into
problems and confusion for visitors and
vendors alike. The "no sales before 9 am
opening bell" puts each vendor in a fair and equitable position.
The WFM clearly advertises and lists the hours of
operation and insists vendors
refrain from selling before 9 am. We ask that
visitors not put vendors in an awkward situation by
requesting they break the rule, even "just one time".
Q. How do I get a space to sell at the market?
A. Vendor spaces are very limited and opening
depend on space still available after
previous season vendor applications are submitted
and accepted. Products emphasized are
agricultural items with some specialty products and
artisans complimenting them. Items
other than produce are filled with an eye on keeping variety
in the market and if an item is appropriate for the market.
Items sold must be PRODUCED IN New Hampshire BY
THE VENDOR; re-selling of
any product purchased else where solely for resale is
prohibited - including agricultural products. Application to the market does not
guarantee acceptance. See our
Market
Guidelines and
New Vendor
pages for extended details. Questions may also
